Hayat was contesting as an independent candidate, while Imam submitted his nomination papers as the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) candidate.
Imam, who was contesting election for the first time, had filed an application against Hayat which resulted in the disqualification of Hayat, who had been winning seats from his constituency without fail.
Earlier the same day, ECP had rejected the nomination papers of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Ayaz Amir for writing articles “against the ideology of Pakistan”.

Very good such rebels must be thrown out of Pakistan.
This ECP and judiciary independence is not even laughable now....the greatest tyranny is tyranny of law...and we are living in an age of the worst form of it....
I think we are not heading towards a stable democratic system, but some sort of dictatorship....! We end up in a position, where PTI think they are the only "chosen" one who can save Pak. PMLn, ECP, SC and Army think the same....!
PMLn think, there is no PTI, PTI think people have rejected PPP and PMLn. They have done clean sweep already in there dreams. ECP think, to be a nominee for the election you have to memories certain versus, should never have given any opinion or your own views regarding Pakistan. It seems we are becoming less tolerant day by day. No one is ready to even give others their due respect...! Poorer are not allowed to do any single mistake, while stronger can qualify as long as they can avoid the system while using most expensive lawyers in the country .........! list goes on, while I still pray that my country progress and prosper among the family of nations (Ameen)
