The candidates who returned the tickets included PTI Lahore chapter president Abdul Aleem Khan and Jamshed Iqbal Cheema.
Aleem Khan was awarded the NA-124 and PP-127 tickets which he returned.
The candidates claimed that they had received tickets for themselves but most of the other party members recommended to the central parliamentary committee were ignored.
They have also announced they will not contest the elections from the PTI.
Gulberg Town President Naveed Chauhan and Aziz Bhatti Town President Haji Sadiq have submitted their written resignations to Aleem Khan over the issue.
Aleem Khan had earlier recommended candidates [for national and provincial assemblies] from each constituency in Lahore.
Among them were Shoaib Siddiqui, Nazeer Chohan, Nasrullah Mughal, Mian Javed Ali, Irshad Dogar, Zulqarnain Taj, Farrukh Javed Moon, Abdul Rasheed Bhatti, Jamil Asghar Bhatti and Sardar Kamil Umer.
Following are the names and constituencies of candidates who returned their tickets:
Hamid Sarwar – PP-145
Hamid Mairaj – NA-123
Chaudhry Talib – NA-130
Jamshed Iqbal Cheema – PP-146
Yameen Tipu – PP-144

PTI central information secretary Shafqat Mehmood told The Express Tribune that the party has not issued any ticket to candidates in Lahore and only the names have been finalised by the central parliamentary board.
The tickets will be awarded to the selected candidates on April 8, Mehmood added.
He also maintained that Aleem Khan and Cheema were trying to put pressure on the party by using such tactics.
PTI’s central information secretary had earlier said that most of the names recommended by the Lahore chapter were rejected because the party had decided to award tickets on merit.
Most of the candidates were in real estate business and favoured by Aleem Khan for that reason, a party leader seeking anonymity told The Express Tribune.

Aleem Khan like people should be kicked out of the party, even most of tabdeeli razakars are reluctant to vage election campaign if they have to work for him. He's most undesirable politician around. Youth of NA 124 is not willing to come out for him at all.
The King Khan should come out and decide the issue once and for all. This is the only democratic way PTI style, one man party!

I think they should site the reasons as to why its unfair. Washign their dirty linen in public leaves a bad taste and shows that those in disagreement have no foresight or public or political acumen to lead a country.

It is very very very difficult to malign the Imran Khan's leadership. It is next to impossible to shake the political standing of PTI. There are some people who wants to lead the show although they do not have those qualities. In democracy you can suggest/recommend but parliamentary board has the final authority which must be respected.

I have nothing against Zardari or NS but why would I vote for some one who was in power since 1985? i was 5 years old and now i am 33. Nothing has changed in past 28 years. That's why i do not supprt PTI. No doubt IK has a great vision but he has failed to co-ordinate his party members wheter it is party intra-elections fights or this. How can we trust him to handle the country's sitauation when he has failed to manage his own party?

Im elected member of PTI UC7, I completely defy Aleem Khan & his companions & we are happy that these face have decided not to contest elections from PTI. PTI gave ticket to Hafiz Farhat Abbas, he is 28 years old, founder member of ISF, and we are standing with each and every decision of PTI. IK is rightly upholding merit.

The last line of the news is very important. People in estate business in the cities are as of waderas in rural areas: both are cartels.
This is called internal party democracy, they could not have dared in the RAJ of Zardari or NS. I have seen these kind of protests among local parties, Republicans or Democrats but they are resolved with dialog with the party leadership. it is the beauty of true democracy where the leadership is challenged by the party members and I would say to Kudos to the party and it's leadership.
PTI merit is becoming a farce....so many have left it and we keep hearing the same argument that the corrupt and selfish are leaving...I wonder how many of these ppl are still in its ranks and who are on 'merit' as long as they are with PTI..Its high time PTI take a look inside its house and come out of the Imran-centric politics.....at the moment its on suicide path....as an Ex-PTI supporter, i feel sorry for the end of the game before its begining...

I donot know about what is going on internally in the organization of PTI, however, I smell Aleem Khan & Associates are all bunch of smart people who only want power and have hijacked the PTI for their own cause. They have money and if you see in Lahore, he is spending Millions for his publicity. They at all donot represent Middle Class, they represent the same class as other party ticket holders. All Rubish and not good; I donot see Tsunami after elections. PTI has drifted away from it s Ideology and Manifesto, and just focusing on traditional way of elections and Youth.

Recognizing the fact that Aleem Khan is the elected President of Lahore, it still doesn't give him right to give tickets to real estate associates. There should be complete merit, such tactics will only make him only unpopular within and outside the party. The unofficial list of candidates in my opinion is satisfactory and such changes are unnecessary.
This a shameful act to pressurize central leadership. I will suggest making example of such "planted" crooks in the party even if it is at the costs of election. Award tickets to people who will respect party descipline.

I don't know if this is some shrewd tactic employed by opposing parties to make PTI look ridiculous, or if PTI supporters are actually completely blind to the momentum surging in PML-N's favor that they just can't possibly understand that PTI has no real chance of winning.

It is sad and gloomy news at all. However I figure that PTI top brass will put new candidates in these two constituencies in Lahore. These two people are protesting for PTI is not taking there recommendations in to account that is concern to me, why PTI not?? may be Lahore Chapter president recommended his close friends and school friends as it is common in Pakistan we give favors to our friends usually.
Khan should lead this crisis and get a common understanding among party, we can't afford such diversions so close to the elections..... Above all, all party members "must accept" part's decision after the Chairman resolves it on 8th April.
