Daylight Robbery: Armed robbers loot gold, cash

An investigation has been launched against the robbers.

Armed robbers looted gold, cash and mobile phones in two separate incidents in the city, police said on Wednesday.


Four armed robbers stormed a utility store near Banni Police Station, and made off with Rs80,000 and three mobile phones after holding staff at gunpoint.

SHO Chaudhry Khalid confirmed the incident and said the police had filed a case and initiated an investigation against the suspects. No recoveries or arrests have been made so far.

In the second incident, Syed Shabbir, residing in Shah Jevan Colony, told Saddar Bairooni Police Station officials that three unidentified robbers entered his house and looted Rs500,000 and four and a half tola of gold ornaments at gunpoint. An investigation has been launched against the robbers.
