The PCB said on Wednesday that former left-arm pace bowler Akram would be supervising a 10-day specialised camp for fast bowlers in Karachi.
"Besides the national team pace bowlers some upcoming young and raw pace bowlers will also attend the camp which will be conducted by Wasim for the board," a PCB official said.
Pakistan's chief selector Iqbal Qasim recently said recently that the team could face a fast bowling crisis as pace talent was drying up in the country. His comments came after a disappointing show from the Pakistani pacers in this year's test series against South Africa in which they suffered a whitewash.
Pakistan's most experienced pace bowler Umar Gul managed just five wickets in two tests at an average of 45 as the team handed debuts to three pace bowlers including Mohammad Irfan, the lone success story of the tour, Rahat Ali and Ehsan Adil.
Akram is Pakistan's most successful fast bowler with 414 test and 502 one-day international wickets.

It never hurts to bring a legend like Wasim Akram on board. His experience can help a great deal with the development of these players.

Wasim Akram was a great bowler indeed but I doubt if he could be a good coach also, especially when we already have a specialized bowling coach with the team. Looks like that PCB is giving him money to keep silent! The same is the case with Miandad imo. Rashid Latif and Moin Khan also tried to get some benefits out Pakistan's debacle in SA, through their most ridiculous comments, but alas poor Latif could not even save his Karachi's selector-ship as his blue eyed team let him down terribly in the national T20 tournament!
@Danial Maroof Shaikh: first confirm if Wasim bhai is coming then go!!!
I want to become a part of this camp. Can anyone tell me where it will be located in Karachi?
PCB needs Wasim akram as full-time bowling. Wasim doesn't need to help IPL bowlers.
he is taking 1,5 million rupes from pcb just for 10 days i dont know what he will do in these 10 days i think he just doing this thing for money if he is realy intersted in groming pak fast bowler he should work with these bowlers for atleast one or two years otherwise these so called bowling training camp is just waste of money with due respect to great wasim akram
Has Akram been dropped from IPL's KKR's team as bowling coach ??
I think otherwise whenever Waqar coaching our bowling looks much better specially Umar Gul have improved well in his tenure, But Umar Gul is not a Test Fast Bowler.
