The court had ordered the police to arrest him by 3pm today but the police failed to do so.
As a result, the court ordered the authorities to freeze his assets and declared Waran a proclaimed offender.
Additional Judge Hamid Hussain Shah of Bahawalpur court heard the fake degree case sent by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on April 1. The court had passed its judgement against the former MNA.

A day earlier, the Supreme Court had ordered the ECP and courts across the country to ‘ruthlessly scrutinise’ all contestants and also take action against former lawmakers with fake degrees and dual nationalities by April 5.
Waran was born in Dhoor Kot, Punjab on December 25, 1966 according to the Election 2013 website. His educational qualifications included a BA degree from Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai University, Khairpur.
He won the elections on PPPP ticket but later joined PPPP-Patriot.
