Violence continues unabated: Three men shot dead

Two men on motorcycles behind all three killings.

KARACHI: Three members of a political party were among the six people killed in separate incidents of violence on Tuesday.

The unit-in-charge of Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s medical aid committee at Qatar Hospital, 45-year-old Abdul Hafiz Qureshi Khalilullah, was shot dead by two unidentified men on a motorcycle near the hospital in Orangi. The culprits escaped before the police arrived. Additionally, a former unit in-charge of the party, 35-year-old Asif Ansari, was shot dead and another member of the party, Shariq, were wounded by two men on a motorcycle in the limits of Sher Shah police station. The deceased and injured were transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.

A supporter of Pakistan Peoples Party, 40-year-old Adnan Khan Haji, was shot dead by two armed men on a motorcycle near his home in Orangi.  The deceased was a  blacksmith by profession and was at work when the incident occurred. The motive behind the incident has yet to be determined.



A man, 58-year-old Ashraf Hussain, was shot dead by two unidentified armed men on a motorcycle. His body was taken to Jinnah hospital.

In a separate incident, a labourer, 38-year-old Arshad Mohammad, was shot dead near his home in Keamari. The culprit managed to escape before the police arrived. According to the police, the incident occurred after a land dispute. Additionally, a 30-year-old man, Rab Nawaz Nizamuddin, was found dead in Bhains Colony area. According to the police, the deceased had been strangled to death. His body was taken to Jinnah hospital.
