PESHAWAR: Principal of American International College Lahore presented relevant documents before the court during the hearing on the alleged fake degree case of former Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) sports minister Syed Aqil Shah on Tuesday.

The principal of the college, where Shah obtained his degree from, produced the relevant documents and informed the court Shah had been granted admission after he produced his matriculation and intermediate documents.

The university, however, is not recognised by the Higher Education Commission.

The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) had earlier filed a complaint against Shah’s graduate degree, after which a case was filed against him. However, Shah has been refuting the allegations.

Since the Supreme Court of Pakistan has ordered all election-related petitions to be disposed of till April 4, the hearings of Shah’s case are taking place daily. The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has also directed Sessions Judge Shabbar Khan to decide the case till ECP’s deadline.

On Monday, the former minister recorded his statement and replied to 14 questions posed by the court.
