Two eunuchs in the Punjab have filed nomination papers for a national assembly and a provincial assembly seat, The Express Tribune has learnt.
In Gujrat, She-male Association (Punjab chapter) president Zahid alias Resham will be contesting election from NA-105 against former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and former federal minister Ahmed Mukhtar.
Resham, who submitted her nomination papers on March 31, says she is running to help the poor and the deprived. She says she is confident about herself and facing opponents. She will request for flower to be her election symbol.
In Sargodha, Naina Laal will be running from PP-33 as an independent. She submitted her nomination papers with the returning officer on March 31. Talking to The Express Tribune after filing her papers, Laal said she was grateful to the chief justice of Pakistan for giving transgenders the right to vote and participate in the election. She said the right to vote had given transgenders a voice and the opportunity to serve the nation. She said she was not bothered about what election symbol the Election Commission would allot her since, “symbols do not matter”. What mattered, she added, was how she would serve the people if elected.
To a question, Laal said the transgender community would not be her only focus and that she would work for all people.

I think they should not be given representation in National Assembly or Provincial Assemblies of Pakistan. This group is being fed up from both sexes i.e. male and female. You all must know that this sex group can't fulfill even understand issues of standard sex group and beside this just imagine how can they formulate laws or present/move bills in parliament.
Why in the world would a Transgender advocacy and support group call itself the She-male Association??
She male really? also using her former male name?
Long way to go Pakistan, but this is great news :)
I believe "she-male" is not the accurate word at all for their name.
am sure its a good move and change as well. all the bests.
They must be given reserved seats everywhere in the country. They have been marginalised in this country / South Asia for centuries. They should be given respect like an ordinary citizen.
I say why not. Go for it Gurls.
Well done. May you all win your seats so that at least we will be sure that you will not sell out like our regular politicians.
