The girl, Pooja Meghwal, had strayed into Pakistani territory through a damaged fencing near 43KYD village on Friday while grazing cattle. She was handed back to Indian Border Security Force (BSF) on Monday in “good health”, the report said.
BSF officials told TNN that authorities from both the countries had been holding several flag meetings since Friday for the girl’s return. An officer said that the girl “was smiling and was seen in a new dress given to her by Pakistan Rangers”.
“The girl told us that she was offered timely meals, candies, new footwear and a new dress by Pakistani Rangers. A woman officer was also deputed by them to take care of her,” the report quoted DSP Bikaner Babu Lal Bishnoi as saying.

It's a great expression of courage ,no doubt. Hats off dudes :)
@Indian Wisdom: I looked up the word troll....and saw your picture.
Kind gesture. Rare and heartening to read some neutral or positive news about Pakistan India that doesn't start a comment war as per usual.
@rennymathew:
Common courtesy :) ... Pakistani rangers did a good thing, and I thanked them.
@s: Sir,what indian media should report..Coz of incompetency of our Armed forces, one intruder was released for getting pooja back home. Our govt has expanded in billions for fencing ,yet people r able to cross the boarder. No doubt our armed institution is also corrupt.Anyway nice gesture by pak rangers. She was well taken care off and safely returned..
But Indian media does not cover positive news like this. they should stay balanced rather than one sided. atleast people to people differences are not existing.
Oh how it makes me happy to read such a positive news after a long long time!
@Concerned: weeks before this we also returned a pakistani man who staryed into india but there is no news about it in pakistan
Thanks guys. I really hope that all this fighting stops.
@Bala: ther is nothing to thank in return bsf also returned a pakistani man who staryed into india, pakistani media bias
Thank you Pakistan, this gesture is well appreciated....
Got to agree with @Aqeel Ahmed here, if it was another country like India they would say a civilian has been shot due to friendly fire. The Pakistani armed forces, rangers are definitely much more caring than other forces i've read about around the world. They usually shoot first and ask questions later. Very dangerous indeed. Look at the shooting of Nato forces of two young boys in Afghanistan, they were Australian soldiers though. And then when the come back home they are heavily decorated for their courage! What courage, killing poor innocent civilians and it is all covered up by the machinations of the public relations department.
Feels nice to hear such things after the non stop nonsense news about firings/ bullets flying / killings/ maimings and what not.
@Watan-e-Hindustan(Indian): Read this news on TOI,probably you will get your answer right.
"BSF officials told TNN that authorities from both the countries had been holding several flag meetings since Friday for the girl’s return."
I wonder, why did it take such a long time to hand over the girl to India.
Hats off, sensible job done by Pakistan military.I have heard many bad things about the Pakistan military in India this is one good news to hear and it bring me happiness.
This is the difference between Indians and Pakistanis:
When a pakistani jawan accidentally strays across to Indian territory, he is shot dead in cold blood. When and Indian girl strays across pakistan territory she is given food and gifts. This shows which of the two nations is human and which is Indian.
I am very surprised that this has happened.
But i must say thank you to Pakistan for this gesture.
The gesture by pakistan is highly appreciated by the Indian public.
what a gesture towards a lil kid
India thanks to Pakistan's gesture
@P r Sharma,,
I agree with you, The act of Innocent girl is not comparable with the Act of any other Army officer.
We must recognize the extremists among us.
A lesson to learn for our Indian fellows.
Thank You !!!
Pakistan, thanks a lot.
Thats a great move, wen the relation between the two nations are on an edge. Pakistanese are not as brutal/bad as we think. I hope most of the people there are peace loving, as both nations are children of Same mother, somehow seperated.
Good piece of news , it was refreshing to read this!
Nice gesture and very heart touching.
This shows that Not all Pakistanis are bad, as they think, and Not all Indians ( or other nationals) are good.
No doubt ! Pakistanis are big hearted :)
India should learn some good manners from this
@p r sharma: to Zaid Ahmed Recognize sarcasm, Sharma ji. He is known for similar posts.
Very heart warming
To my Indian fellows,
Guys, this shows that we Pakistanis are not as bad as you think we are.
Dear Pooja Meghwal ,
Please tell your family that we only did what we felt like doing. We do not consider you being an Indian. We saw you as a little daughter in need of care , just like we would to any other soul. For that you dont have to thank us either.
@ INDIANS
The only possible difference between us was of that between a Hindu and a Muslim.
If we are mature and strong enough to face and overcome this difference , then we will see that there is NO OTHER difference between us. We ARE the same nation with divided hearts.
Nice gesture! Such gestures restore our confidence levels in each other. Hopefully we never kill innocent civilians from each others side and eventually never have to resort to cross firing of any kind.
Though, I stopped commenting on this Pak site, but, I can't restrain myself from thanking Pak authorities for their gesture of sending this little Indian girl, back to the place/country she belongs, unharmed and healthy of course. Thank you Pakistan, thank you very much.
@Zaid Hamid: " We demand that govt should explain how does when ever a helicopter or a person come to our territory we send them with out hurting but when our Army chief go inside territory during kargli no one from Indian govt does not send him by respect."
I think you deliberately don't want to understand the difference between the straying of girl child or heliocentric( in the Pak territory) and the planned adventure of crossing the border by the COAS of Pakistan along with an army of soldiers ( surely for not observing picnic)
As a nation this is our message to neighbours.
Yet again we prove that Pakistanis have big hearts. Shabash Pak Rangers.
Quite a human move by Pakistani Rangers. Thank You, and I wish such gestures continue from both sides of borders. Peace !!
Can we please do the same with the Indian fishermen who stray into our waters?
Nice gesture.
this highly appreciable descion bring close india and pakistan togeter.Indians will know about the genreousity of pakistanis.I hope our bad impression on them will chane in to good impression....
These are the kind of good stories that I want to hear often. Cheers.
This is excellent gesture ! An innocent girls deserves this..
It is very appreciable and I am sure the girl will remember this nice gesture by Pakistanis when she grow up. Taking care of her, giving her timely meals, new footwear and dress, are all commendable acts. Thanks to the Pakistani Rangers.
Just few weeks ago, a Pakistani boy strayed across the border with India and was promptly returned by Indian authorities with sweets and new pair of clothes.
Somehow this brought me memories of a movie that I saw. "Ramchand Pakistani"
Very nice movie indeed.
We demand that govt should explain how does when ever a helicopter or a person come to our territory we send them with out hurting but when our Army chief go inside territory during kargli no one from Indian govt does not send him by respect. We appose this. Yakeen Janeye. we need caretaker govt for 3 years so that we can keep the child in jail as she was a RAW Agent. BT I hope you are ghairat enough to put my message as there is nothing in this moderate and not to put my message in the comment section.
Love them! Us civilians shouldn't be dragged into military matters. Best to treat us as civilians only!
Thank You Pakistan, We appreciate this gesture!
More such positive gestures should be promoted between Pakistan and India .
Decent gesture by the Pakistanis.
Nice gesture. Hope Pooja becomes the bond of peace between the two neighbour nations.
