RAWALPINDI:

Three armed robbers barged into the franchise of a cellular service provider in Chaklala Scheme III on Monday and made off with Rs1.1 million cash and other valuables including mobile phones.

Investigation officer Assistant Sub-inspector Arshad said that three robbers entered the franchise at 9am pretending to be customers.

He said the robbers took a good look around the shop before pulling out pistols and looting the shop while holding employees at gun point.

“They looted the store and the staff members, taking cash, five mobiles and SIM cards,” he said. The robbers could not be identified as there were no security cameras inside the shop, however, cases have been registered against unknown persons, he said.

A franchise staffer said the robbers were speaking to each other in Pashto and all seemed to be around 30-years-old.
