“The arrested men belong to TTP’s Khan Zaman group,” said SSP Chaudhry Aslam Khan during a press conference at CID’s headquarters in Garden. “Majeed manages the group’s finances and Mairajuddin heads the group’s Haji Camp in Sultanabad.”
SSP Khan claimed that the group members were involved in a number of cases of extortion and had sent millions of rupees to their allies in Waziristan. “They have been monitoring sensitive installations and have been providing logistical support to Taliban in Karachi.”

He also mentioned that the police had found a hit list of individuals the group had intended to target which they couldn’t disclose to the media due to security reasons.
Five hand grenades, 50 kilogrammes of explosives, two rifles, a detonator wire, ball bearings, nut bolts and a Kalashnikov were found in the culprits’ possession.
Mobina Town police arrested two men, Babar and Rafiq alias Jagga, during a separate raid in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. DSP Qaiser Ali Shah said that the arrested men had been involved in more than a dozen cases of target killings. “The case is still being investigated,” he added.
Additionally, Rangers arrested more than a dozen men during raids in Ilyas Goth and Angara Goth in Liaquatabad. A huge cache of weapons were found in their possession.
