KARACHI: In order to prevent traffic bottlenecks around Empress Market, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has altered routes of 46 buses and minibuses, barring most of them from entering the area. Parking vehicles from Empress Market to Regal Chowk has also been forbidden.

At present, public transport vehicles get to Empress Market through MA Jinnah Road, Rafiqui Shaheed Road, Dr Daudpota Road, Iqbal Shaheed Road and Mansfield Street. Under the new plan, all public transport buses coming from the Jinnah Hospital side would be routed through Lucky Star.

All buses and minibuses coming from MA Jinnah would not be allowed to enter Saddar and instead be directed towards Saeed Manzil. Chingchis have also been banned in Saddar.
