Annual meeting: APNS elects Executive Council unopposed

Sarmad Ali elected unopposed as president and Dr Jabbar Khattak as senior vice-president.

All Pakistan Newspapers Society (APNS) has elected unopposed Sarmad Ali as president and Dr Jabbar Khattak as senior vice-president.


Masood Hamid was elected secretary-general, Imtinan Shahid as vice-president, SM Munir Jilani as joint secretary and Waseem Ahmed as finance secretary for the year 2013-14.

The APNS general council elected these office bearers of the executive council (EC) unanimously in its annual general meeting held here at APNS House on Saturday. The APNS annual general meeting also approved EC report and accounts for the previous year, said a press release issued by APNS director Dr Tanvir A Tahir.

The general council was attended by 147 members from across the country who formed an election commission comprising Younus Riaz as chairman and Usman Arab Satti and Nasir Daad Baloch as members to handle the election process.
