MQM US wing filed the petition.
According to a statement from the party, the memorandum has been filed by MQM central organiser in the United States Junaid Fahmi.
The memorandum lists MQM’s apprehensions over the recent delimitations in Karachi announced by the Election Commission. It added that the delimitations was a conspiracy to usurp the mandate of the people and that illegal and extra-constitutional means were being used to suppress the MQM.
The memorandum urged the international community to use its influence for holding of free and fair elections in Pakistan.

@IZ: It is quite mature and wise action which provides a via media. The PML N could not resolve the issue of party tickets. Did you read the news "PML N Worker Climbs Electric Pole in protest Against Party Tickets".They are childish.

@Abdullah khan: It is not a non issue. All anchors and analysts appear on Pakistan TV channels agree that MQM grumbling is justified. You remember Justice Fakhruddin, the Chief Election Commissioner himself admitted that he was against delimitation in Karachi.
Now the limitations after the electoral process has already started the delimitation will involve practical complications.

For the purpose of delimiting constituencies, the Commission may receive and considerrepresentations, hold inquiries, summon witnesses and record evidence, and shall prepare and publish in the official Gazette a preliminary report and list of constituencies specifying the areas proposed to be included in each constituency. Under sub-section (2) of Section 10 of the Act, any person entitled to vote at an election to the National Assembly or a Provincial Assembly may, within fifteen days of the publication of the report, make a representation to the Commission in respect of the delimitation of constituencies published under sub-section (1) of Section 10 thereof. If Benazir's murder investigation can be done by UN then why ithis is such a big deal. Why quota system, domicile problem and delimitation of constituencies are limited to Sind/Karachi.
The law in Pakistan states No delimitations with out census but when it comes to Karachi nobody obeys law and to crush mohajir domination such acts becomes lawful when the people running the shows bent on pushing a community to wall with such acts reply will be like this as well. Oh forget to mention Mohajirs are also included in UN list of Ethnic Minorities facing State oppression and racism. Better stop such steps or UN would intervene like East Timor
@Naveen @PTIMardan It's sad for me. The MQM in its current Muttahida form really has a good grassroots approach, they believe in merit and education rather than family ties or acreage and don't suppress women but rather see them as equals in work and family. They are also left leaning religiously and prefer to keep religion a sacred but personal matter. I probably agree more with their manifesto than I do with Kaptaans. Still, I would vote for PTI this time because I don't agree with the 'darker' side of the MQMs approach to politics and believe that it destroys all their goodaspects. I really hope Kaptaan delivers, if elected.

In pashto we used a proverb"Chi kom Zai dai na gareegi hagha Har za ma garwa"mean where there is no rash don't rub it every where" MQM always internationalize nationals issue. Make non issue an issue. One man one vote also mean proportional representation. Than the karachi people should be allow to Vote to parties not to person than it will be clear how many men vote to Mqm
