PML unification
What would be a significant development, heralding a meaningful difference in the present manner of governance, would be the merger of PML-N and PML-Q, to the exclusion of the outfit conceived by the dictator Musharraf. Endless politicking
It is not difficult either to argue that Pir Sahib's move is not hostile to the present set-up, of which his party is a coalition partner. He may be working at finding a substitute for the blow-hot-blow-cold relationship between the Gilani-led government and Nawaz Sharif-headed PML (N) by making a pitch for Shujaat's PML (Q), and thus inject some calm into the presently quarrelsome relationship between the Federal government and Punjab government. As for the latest development, the PML-N is reportedly keeping a close eye on things. The Q-League has given it a tough time in parts of Punjab and perhaps Chaudhry Shujaat and Mushahid Hussain are trying to create a constituency in Sindh by merging with Pir Pagara’s faction. (dawn.com)
