Call For Relief: 600 havaldars await promotion

Police department recruited 500 assistant sub-inspectors instead of promoting the trained hawaldars to the ASI rank.

GUJRANWALA: As many as 600 hawaldars in the region are waiting for promotions three years after completing the required training.

Talking to The Express Tribune, the havaldars said they had been taught investigation rules in the course which was required to promote them, but the police department directly recruited 500 assistant sub-inspectors instead of promoting the trained hawaldars to the ASI rank.
