ISLAMABAD:

The Ministry of Housing has completed a survey of 2,500 government houses, raising the total number of residences surveyed to 5,400.

The survey was conducted in sectors G-10/3, G-11/4, I-8/1 and G-8/2 by special teams formed by the ministry’s Vigilance and Monitoring Cell, said a press release.

The cell, established to ensure transparency in government plot allotments, had dispatched 20 teams to carry out the survey which verifies the status of occupants.

The ministry expressed hope that the task would be completed in time to submit a report to the Supreme Court.

The teams present a daily report to the ministry’s joint secretary, said an official.

Residents are asked to provide the required information, which is verified by existing Estate Office and ministry records, he added.
