GUJRANWALA: An assistant superintendent of prisons was suspended from service on Wednesday for beating up deputy superintendent following an exchange of harsh words.
According to a police official, DSP Shahzad Butt had marked Muhammad Shahid, the ASP, absent.
The two officials got into an argument when Shahid came to the office to let Butt know that he had been allowed a medical leave.
Deputy Inspector General (jails) Malik Mubashir had ordered an inquiry and relieved Butt from his duties.
