ECP issues list of ex-MNAs, MPAs assets

The Election Commission of Pakistan issued the list of assets declared by the former Members of National and Provincial Assembly on Thursday, Express News reported.

Former MNA Noor Alam Khan of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was declared as the richest MNA with over Rs32 billion worth of assets and Rs10 million worth of gold.

PPP MNA Jamshed Dasti was declared as the poorest MNA, owning nothing other than his MNA salary.

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) Leader of Opposition Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has a house in Faizabad, a farmhouse and nine residential flats in Rawalpindi, along with 700 canal properties worth Rs40 million and bank balance of Rs8.3 million.

Former Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf owns over Rs72 million worth of property and two cars of Rs1.8 million. He also revealed that his wife owns 0.4 million worth of gold and has yet to receive Rs8 million from his brother.

According to the list, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) president Chaudhry Pervez Elahi has a property worth of Rs8.9 million and has invested over Rs34.9 million. His bank account has over Rs64.1 million.

Deputy Speaker Faisal Karim Kuli owns land worth Rs0.8 million and has a bank account of Rs0.4 million, but does not own a car.

The list also includes the name of ex-PM Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son, former MNA Ali Musa Gilani, who has over Rs7.52 million worth of assets. His elder brother Abdul Qadir Gilani has assets worth of over Rs180 milion and two cars, out of which one is an imported bullet proof car. Qadir Gilani also possesses Rs30 million worth of gold and a bank balance of Rs2.2 million.

Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar is said to possess assets worth of over Rs13.3 million and Rs3 million worth of jewellery.

The list also mentioned the names of Awami National Party (ANP) leader Asfandyar Wali Khan with Rs10 million worth of assets, politician Aftab Sherpao having Rs30 million worth of assets, JUI-F leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman owning up to Rs5.5 million worth of assets and bank account of more than Rs1.6 million.

The list of assets gives the impression these politicians have spend more money and efforts in camouflaging their assets because the current details of their worldly goods.. I hope the new nomination form has the right questions to draw out a clearer picture of the assets these politicians possess. THE CURRENT DETAILS ARE A JOKE ON THE PEOPLE OF PAKISTAN IN CONTEMPT OF THEIR IQ
