The police in Kasur is yet to make an arrest in connection with the attack on a local Ahmadi leader’s house and are instead requesting the Ahmadi community in the area to withdraw their complaint, The Express Tribune has learnt.
A mob in Shamasabad village of Kasur district attacked the house of Maqsood Ahmed Anjum and allegedly beat him and his family late Monday night. The incident happened following months of tensions between Ahmadi families and other residents of the village.
Local leaders of Ahmadiyya community have claimed that an FIR has been registered on their application against 20 accused persons. However, the police denied confirming the registration of a case.
Furthermore, it has been brought to light that the police are favouring the accused and have assured them that they could lodge a tit-for-tat FIR against the Ahmadis.
Sheikh Yousaf, chief of the Ahmadiyya community in Kasur, told The Express Tribune that on Anjum’s complaint, the police have registered FIR which nominates Naveed Akram, Abid Ali, Muhammad Boota and Anjum Baqar and others as accused.
Yousaf said that the police have not arrested any of the accused so far and have instead asked them to enter into a dialogue with the accused.
Zafar Malik, Anjum’s brother, told The Express Tribune that the accused have threatened him to withdraw their application.
On the other hand, Superintendent of Police (Investigation) Hammad Raza Qureshi said he was unaware of any such case. SHO Police Station Chunian Tariq Khan and DPO Kasur Sayyed Khurram Ali also declined to comment on the matter.
Malik Sarfaraz Ahmed, an elder from the accused party, told The Express Tribune that they were trying to negotiate with the Ahmadis, but the latter refused to acknowledge their request. He confirmed that the police have assured them of registering a counter FIR against the Ahmadiyya community in the area, claiming that Ahmadi youth were resorting to aggressive behavior among the village’s ‘peaceful’ people.

Its not the first time Ahmadies facing this in Pakistan... Absolutely shameless, looks like Punjab govt. and police also involved in all this.!!! May Allah save all of them, Ameen. peace
Shame on the authorities
CM should act upon this and save his image. This is really a sad thing. The police in this case cannot be even considered as humans to support such disgusting acts.
Today, Islam is pictured as the epicenter of injustice, inhumanity, biasness, and whatever negative traits of a society one might think of; however, all too unjust in itself.and everybody knows how influential mullas can be in brainwashing common people against AHMADIES.
No hope from Pakistan’s police, only God’s help will save ahmadis from their cruelties. Their FIR are only a formality. Police will do nothing for ahmadis because Pakistani laws support them, also Ahmadis are already losing their lives and properties in their hands.
MR. HAMMAD RAZA, TARIQ KHAN and KHURRAM ALI

All this in the name of Allah!!!.. The nerve of the person claiming that ahmedi youth are resorting to violence knowing full well that they are outnumbered, have no rights and could expect a beating even after doing nothing let alone being violent against such people. Who is he fooling? oh yeah ........ PAKISTAN!
The persecution of minorities is increasing day by day in this soo called islamic state, whether they are Christians.Ahmadies or Hindus.Religious extremism is denting the image of this counrty very rapidly..the people of Pakistan and their leaders now will have to think that where will they take this country??government officials should have to take practical steps rather then just sitting, condemning the incidents and giving statements from inside their lavish offices...if these incidents keeps taking place then one day this silent majority of the country will become minoriy..
May Allah Guide this nation. Ameen
only allah justice we are dependent only allah
Thankyou for creating awareness and stating the facts will remember him and his family in prayers

Very shameful act. Those who did this must be prosecuted..Justice must be done. And all the citizens must be protected by Law.
Police should not follow the false orders of their Political gods. instead they must remember Allah before helping wrong hands. Ahmadis are innocent and harmless. I strongly condemn this shameful act of mob and police.
Pakistani Ahmadi
Being a member of Ahmadiyya Muslim Community it is becoming difficult for me to live in Pakistan day by day. The clerics are doing what is expected from them, as a hadith qoutes them as "Fitna" in todays world. But, the mother; state, is not playing its role in protecting us. Specific laws are made to target us. Whoever wants to target us, easily targets us and get away like nothing happened. Students are being kicked out of the educational institutions. Ahmadis are subject to discrimination at workplaces. Is this the Pakistan which Qaed e Azam dreamt of? I doubt.
May Allah give Hidayat to this nation. No body is there to speak, to see whats going on.
Allah help us. that's not fear we are humans.
i have no words to write a comment, this is not a first time that AHMEDIS facing such that but shameless Punjab govt and Police doing nothing for action in fact their behavour tells they involve in doing such that .... keep in mind govt and police infact every responsible you are questioned one day about your responsibility be prepare for that day
Very shameful act. Those who did this must be prosecuted!
Respected
Mr. Najam Sethi “No body is my friend and no buddy is my relative during I am the Chief Minister of Punjab”. Its your first ever speech after being selected as caretaker Chief Minister.
The Constitution is incomplete until it provides safety for every single person of the country. you have a chance to set example for others (Past & Future Govt) & its your test too. if you Arrest accused persons and put them in jail، it will be a good achievement. Otherwise, No need to accuse the Govt sitting in the "Aapas Ki Baat" Program after come out of the Caretaker Govt. Thanks Muhammad Shafique Adil Nagarparkar (Basic Kasur) Sindh Pakistan
anybody who"ll stay silent and consider himself as not being part of all this should keep in mind that your are bound to be next.. so please speak up..
Justice must be done or otherwise Allah shall do it on the Day of Justice.
Justice must be done. And all the citizens must be protected by Law. If anyone attacks some particular (Ahmadi) people continuously since last many decades (without any reason), Govt. forces and Local Police should act in positive way to protect Ahmadi citizens.
Justice must be done...
Welcome to the jungle and welcome to the future, whatever is happening now to Ahmedis is eventually going to happen to those who are not raising their voice againt these atrocities. It surely is difficult to wake up from the sleep of ignorance.
Respected
Mr. Najam Sethi
I want just to remind you your first words to media after the taking oath as NIGRAAN WAZIR E AALA Punjab that,
“No buddy is my friend and no buddy is my relative during I am the Chief Minister of Punjab”.
So my humble request to you that take an immediate action according to the law and change traditions which has been the symbol of our culture that we are not respecting of our peaceful lessens and values of our religion ISLAM.
And please tell me that the any religion of the world gives anybody this permission/right that entered in any human home by force and bit and disgrace their all family members (especially ladies) in guidance, shelter and protection of these departments which are the whole responsible of protection to the citizens of our country/province.
This is another black spot on the face of Punjab administration.
This is violation of law & order and of humanitarian sense.
Thankyou for creating awareness and stating the facts. Will remember him and his family in prayers.
I would say this is wrost example against humanity. this is what all about that this country is going worst ... i would like to share that law and order enforcements are with the mob which is ashame for all police concerns. this is an example of ... realy ashame.
Mr. CM have to prove here his statements to bring juistice ...
we pray for justice . may it comes in our lives in this country.aamen
govt should have to take serious action aginst this bad act
I have seen the Lahore attacks on Shia brothers and also have seen many other incidents happening to many minorities in Pakistan. There was some kind of Media attention toward it. Only Tribune writes about such incidents and all news channels are silent about this matter. I guess it is because the ahmadi won't come at streets and goes violent but remain silent and ask God to help them. May such mob get the results of their such actions.
i request the concern authorities to show the courage for real justice and if not, than no doubt that Allah take revenge himself instead of those inncent affected people.
do any one have courage to stop such cults who are creating and spreading the ideology of hatred that drives these mobs, who are then used by the politicians to solidify their voter base.
First of all, hats off to Express Tribune and all those, who have been bringing up these matters into lime light as there had been lots similar cases for several years which have never been reported.
I think its a test case for the newly appointed caretaker chief minister of Punjab Mr. Najam Sethi that how does he responds to this issue as he was very clear in his initial statements being CM.
Hope that justice will prevail and strong action would be taken in this regard.
This is a chance for Mr. Najam Sethi to prove how sincere he was in his words, when he said about protection and well being of Minorities. As far as the behavior of Mobs / Citizens is concerned, this is evident like sun that the Pakistani civil society is falling in to the abyss of extremism which will one day come and haunt them, when Allah's wraith will be upon them and they will find no place to be saved.
This is how majority abuse the rights. Civilizations have witnessed them before too. But where on earth those civilizations!
Dear Care taker CM Mr. Najam Sethi! Please i request as an ordinary civilian of Pakistan, please look into this matter personally and ensure justice. Every citizen has right of justice under the light of constitution,
Regards Dr.Qasim Ali Karachi drqasim@hotmail.com
nothing can be expected from these leaders. may ALLAH protect all ahmadis from these illeterate mullahs
another shameful act may Allah guide them the path of righteous..
No hope from Pakistan's police, only God's help will save ahmadis from their cruelties. Their FIR are only a formality. Police will do nothing for ahmadis because Pakistani laws support them, also Ahmadis are already losing their lives and properties in their hands.
Years ago bigotry was found in fringe groups and their influence over the government. Now this bigotry has permeated all aspect of pakistani society, to a point that a poor person who has hard time feeding his family has to stop and show how much he hates minorities in pakistan. Corrupt caretakers of Islam are the faces of hatred, intolerance and bigotry. Exact opposite of what Islam teaches.
May Allah protect Pakistan and the Ahmadiyya Muslims from the so called Official declared Muslims by the Govt of Pakistan ( Parliament ) and give courage to Ahmadiyya Muslims to follow the Motto " Love For All Hatred For None".
Unfortunately justice is not some thing that prevails in Pakistan. The condition of the people will not change and the sovereignty of Pakistan will unfortunately be in huge jeopardy unless a fair and just system is established. We hope and pray for prosperous Pakistan but a major change has to happen for this to become a possibility.
Sad to see that even the ET readers do not wish to comment on news items of atrocities against the Ahmedis. Even if we consider them another minority and non-muslims, we shoudl give them equal footing as humans. Mr. Sethi, we are all waiting to see if you have the heart to follow up on this matter or even you are simply a paper tiger!
It is very hard to get justice for the marginalized Pakistanis because not only the sectarian groups but the society as such, intelligencia and authorities have also been brainwashed with the extremist ideology. The concept of absolute justice has been polluted with bigotry and prejudice. The most disturbing aspect is using of religion for the political manipulation. Unfortunately, we did not even leave Allah and Hazoor (SAW) for our vested interest. Use and abuse of religion is not limited to the pseudo-religious parties, even other opportunists are exploiting it too. Let us see how much more we’d exploit Islam in Pakistan?
Care taker CM, Punjab. Should we conclude there is difference between opining in Apas ki Baat about attrocities committed against minorities and practicing that opinion even when you have full authority to do so? Show some courage and act before your image gets in to drain.
Ha ha!
Yet to see that Mr sethi is all talk or have some substance? I say beat and shunt out all minorities one by one from Pakistan and lets clean our flag from white, isn't all green looks good. I hope, i will be left in the end?????
Way to go!!! You keep destroying their property and beat them to death. Don't even spare their elderly women, and they should receive it peacefully with bright smiles. BRAVO Malik Sarfraz sb.
Way to go... you keep destroying their property and beat them to death and they should receive all this Peacefully. Nice point Malik sb.
Hopelessness increases when FIR is not registered or not properly acted upon. May Allah help us all.
C'mon Mr Sethi, arrest the attackers and show the world that this is still a civilized country.
