The Government of Japan, in a joint venture with the Al-Khidmat Foundation (AKF), celebrated the successful completion of its clean-water project in Karachi.
The aim of the project, which was funded by Japan under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) scheme, was to ensure safe drinking water for citizens of the localities.
Through the scheme, Japan provided AKF with approximately Rs7.7 million, which was used to install water filtration plants in seven selected areas of Karachi. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, the Japanese Consul General Akira Ouchi expressed his well wishes for the people of the local community who would be able to gain access to clean water.
