Jumping ship: Former ANP minister joins PML-N

He announced his decision at a meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif in Lahore.

CHITRAL/ HARIPUR: A former provincial minister in the Awami National Party- led coalition government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Qazi Muhammad Asad, joined the Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz.

He announced his decision at a meeting with Mian Nawaz Sharif in Lahore.

Asad had earlier said he would contest elections as an independent candidate.

Meanwhile, a member of the Chitral royal family announced to contest election for the provincial constituency seat PK-89 on Wednesday.

Saifur Rahman, grandson of Chitral Mahtar Amanur Rahman, made the announcement in Lotakwa, Garam Chashma.

He said the sufferings of the people have compelled him to contest. Rahman said if elected, he would connect the remote villages of the district to the main city of Chitral.
