Baseball: Wapda beat Police in national event

KARACHI: Wapda defeated Police 12-5 in the NBP Inter-Departmental Baseball Championship at the University of Central Punjab Complex in Lahore yesterday.

Wapda will play their second match against HEC today, who lost to Police 12-9 on Tuesday.

According to a Punjab Baseball Association (PBA) official, the inter-department championship is featuring three teams in a double-league format and the final of the tournament will take place on March 30.

“We want the players to get exposure and time to prove themselves,” the PBA official told The Express Tribune. “The double-league format will encourage the teams. The best players will later have a chance to join the national camp too.”
