LAHORE: Justice Baqir Ali Najfi of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday directed police to produce the defendants in the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) spurious drug case on April 4.

Justice Najfi passed the orders on a petition by the Prosecution Department challenging the bail granted by the sessions court.

The additional prosecutor general submitted that Nadir Feroze, son of the owner of Efroze Chemical Limited, and Shakeel, plant general manager, supplied spurious drugs to the Punjab Institute of Cardiology, according to a police investigation.

However, the sessions court had granted them bail and had directed police to release them, he said.

He requested the court to suspend the bail and direct police to arrest them again.

The judge recorded arguments and directed the Shadman police to produce the accused before the court on April 4.
