Task force set up to guarantee security for ECP: Interior Ministry

The team will include representatives from ISI, MI, IB and the ECP.

ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has decided to formulate a task force to provide security during the upcoming elections, Radio Pakistan reported.

The interior ministry decided, during a meeting held on Wednesday that the representatives of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), Military Intelligence (MI), Intelligence Bureau (IB) and the ECP will be included in the task force.

The ministry also shared a report, regarding the security threats during the polls, with the ECP. It was decided that the provinces will be asked to provide information about the sensitive areas that will need protection by army at the time of polls.

Meanwhile, the a Corps Commanders Conference presided by Chief of Army Staff Ashfaq Pervez Kayani at the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi also discussed the security of sensitive areas during the elections.

Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Fakhruddin G Ibrahim said the army assured cooperation to maintain law and order situation during the general elections.

Your headline has a glaringly grammatical error. The subeditors really need to pull their socks up! If Tribune's gonna fall from grace, I don't think there's much hope for Pakistan, not with the JI shaping up to take office anyways
