Shahzeb khan case: Policemen testify in murder trial

The witness said he was inside the police station when a sub-inspector informed them about a firing.

KARACHI: An assistant sub-inspector and a police constable recorded their statements in the Shahzeb Khan murder case before an anti-terrorism court on Tuesday.

The witnesses appeared before the judge, Ghulam Mustafa Memon, of the ATC-III, where the first witness said he was inside the police station when a sub-inspector informed them about a firing.

They went to site of the shooting, where they learned that a young man was shot and was taken to Ziauddin hospital.

The complainant’s statement under section 154 of the Criminal Procedure Code was, however, recorded in my presence, he said.

He also testified that one of the suspects confessed at the police station that he can help recover the weapon used in the alleged incident.

The policeman, an investigating officer and the suspect found the vehicle in a plot and recovered a pistol.

Meanwhile, the defence counsel requested the court to grant his clients B class jail cells as they were educated and paid taxes.

The counsel was also dissatisfied with the forensic report and requested a new test. The court issued notices and put off the hearing till Wednesday.
