SUKKUR: Flood survivors staying in more than 300 schools who have received their Watan cards have been asked to evacuate the camps within 72 hours so that the term can resume, said district administration officer Inamullah Dharejo.

Forty-one schools have been evacuated so far and the teaching process has gone back to normal in six schools of Pannu Aqil. More than 60,000 flood survivors, men, women and children are living in the relief camps set up in schools and the administration is trying to issue them Watan cards as soon as possible.

The district administration has decided to complete the evacuation process by October 1. Sources said that the administration has geared up to start work at 306 schools in the tehsils of Sukkur, Rohri, Pannu Aqil, Sulah Putt and new Sukkur. The education department and district administration have compiled lists of schools. Sources also said that the flood survivors who have received Watan cards will be asked to leave and if they do not follow orders they will be expelled.
