ISLAMABAD: All arrangements have been finalised to celebrate Pakistan Day today on Saturday across the country and in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan with traditional zeal and enthusiasm.

The day commemorates the passage of the historic Lahore Resolution now called “Pakistan Resolution” on March 23 1940 at the ground where the Minar-e-Pakistan stands. The resolution laid the basis for the creation of Pakistan.

The day will dawn with special prayers for progress and prosperity of the country and with a 31 gun-salute in the federal capital as well as 21-gun salute in the provincial capitals.
