LAHORE:
Unknown gunmen opened fire on the house of Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q) chief Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and his brother PML-Q president Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Express News reported on Friday.

According to eye witnesses, two gunmen riding a motorcycle opened fire on the house present on Zahoor Elahi road. Over a dozen bullets were fired in the attack.

The gunmen fled the area after continuous firing for a few minutes.

They were successful in escaping because Zahoor Elhai road (on which the houses were present) has many routes branching out from it.

The police reached the area and started investigating the attack. They could not determine the kinds of weapon used.

Spokesperson for the PML-Q chief Chaudhry Iqbal clarified that both the brothers had gone to Islamabad, hence, were not present when the incident took place.

He also said that an FIR would be filed right away.
