LAHORE: The Pakistan Sports Board’s (PSB) anti-doping committee headed by Khawaja Farooq Saeed has imposed a two-year ban on Sumaira Zahoor for testing positive in a dope test.

The committee had already banned seven athletes for the same offence as Zahoor, who competed in the 2004 Athens Olympics, was suspended after she failed to appear before the committee last month.Zahoor, 30, however appeared before the three-man committee yesterday which imposed the ban while allowing her to appeal against the decision.

None of the banned athletes have appealed against their bans yet. The list includes five female and three male athletes. The Anti-Doping Organisation of Pakistan had conducted the dope tests on in different sports by using the kits provided by the World Anti-Doping Agency.
