KARACHI: Six unidentified men robbed a branch of Meezan bank located in North Nazimabad and escaped with Rs3.6 million on Tuesday.

The witnesses claimed that the robbers were wearing shalwar kameez and were speaking Pushto.

DSP Syed Haider Ali told The Express Tribune that one of the three security guards employed at the bank helped the robbers.

“He escaped with the robbers after the incident,” he added. He also mentioned that the culprits, who came in motorcycles and a car, took 15 minutes to finish the robbery.

The police raided the residence of one the suspects in Frontier Colony and arrested two of his brothers. According to DSP Ali, the robbers might belong to a banned outfit.

The culprits also seized weapons from the two security guards posted at the bank and the CCTV cameras installed in it while fleeing from the scene.
