Hit and run: College student run over by bus
The protesters demanded that the bus driver by arrested.
FAISALABAD:
A second year college student was run over by a bus on Tuesday. Police said Muhammad Bilal was on his way to sit an examinations. His batch mates and other students later staged a demonstration on the Narawala Road and damaged the bus. The bus driver fled the scene. The students blocked the road by burning tyres. They also shouted slogans against the traffic police for failing to control speeding drivers. Muhammad Zeeshan, who said he was a close friend of the deceased, also said that shortly after he and Bilal left for the examination centre, a textile factory staff bus hit Bilal’s motorcycle near University of Agriculture Faisalabad. He fell from the motorcycle and was crushed under the bus. He said he called some friends who helped him take Bilal’s body to his home. The protesters demanded that the bus driver by arrested. Gulberg Circle SP Imran Kishwar reached the scene and assured the students that the driver would be arrested. The students dispersed three hours later.
