Substandard Meat: Butcher arrested, two others flee

Police said Amir confessed to selling substandard meat for the last five years.



GUJRANWALA/ MULTAN/ FAISALABAD: A butcher was arrested on Tuesday for selling substandard meat, while two others fled. Police said they raided several areas of the city to see if butchers were selling meat on Tuesday which had been declared a non-meat day by the Livestock Department. They said one Amir was found selling substandard meat. Two of his accomplices fled. Police said Amir confessed to selling substandard meat for the last five years. He said he would buy sick cattle for cheap.
