Targeted attack?: Soldier killed in Orangi Town

The deceased was posted to the Sindh regiment and arrived in the city on vacation from Hyderabad.

A soldier of the Pakistan Army was killed in a targeted attack in Orangi Town on Monday evening. The deceased was identified as 32-year-old Imran Ali.


According to sources in the military’s media wing, the deceased was posted to the Sindh regiment and arrived in the city on vacation from Hyderabad to visit his family in the Frontier Colony’s Qadri Mohalla.  According to DSP Zahid Hussain, Ali was returning home after attending a religious gathering at the nearby Umer Farooq Masjid when unidentified persons shot him twice in his head and once in the leg.

The DSP said the motive behind the killing was yet to be ascertained. No case has been registered yet.
