An official of the Chauta Lahor police said that in the early hours of the morning, the house of Muhammad Ijaz collapsed and his whole family was buried under the debris.
Ijaz’s brothers living in an adjacent house rushed to the site to rescue the victims started removing the debris.
They pulled out Muhammad Ijaz, his wife, five-year-old Sonia, three-year-old Nasir and two-year-old Tanzila.
The official said the victims were rushed to tehsil headquarters hospital however Ijaz and Sonia succumbed to their injuries.
The others were referred to the Lady Reading Hospital due to non-availability of medics in the local hospital.
