KARACHI:

Pakistan will take on Kyrgyzstan today in the Asian Football confederation (AFC) Challenge Cup 2014 qualifiers in Bishkek.

Pakistan kicked off their qualifying campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Tajikistan. The team is required to win at least two matches to give itself a chance to qualify, and former captain Essa Khan believes it is going to be an uphill task.

“We’ll be playing under a lot of pressure,” Khan told The Express Tribune. “We need to put that defeat out of our mind and look to win this one.”

Meanwhile, Pakistan could be without captain Jaffar Khan due to a groin injury. Yousuf Butt is tipped to play as his replacement.
