Convocation: 779 University of Faisalabad graduates awarded degrees

Faculty, staff who served at the sister colleges for ten years also acknowledged.

As many as 779 graduates from The University of Faisalabad (TUF) and the University Medical and Dental College (UMDC)– run by Madina Foundation– were conferred degrees at the their third convocation at the main hall at the Saleem Campus.


Board of Governors Chairman Mian Muhammad Hanif awarded the degrees and medals to TUF graduates. The UMDC students were awarded degrees by University of Health Sciences, Lahore, Vice Chancellor Maj Gen (retired) Muhammad Aslam.

BoG Vice Chairman Mian Muhammad Rasheed and Government College University Faisalabad VC Zakir Hussain were also present.

Hanif congratulated the graduates and urged them to work hard during their professional careers.

He said The University of Faisalabad was set up with an aim to make higher education more accessible.

TUF, he said, had been categorised as a W4 university- the highest rank given to universities by the Higher Education Commission.

UHS VC Dr Aslam also congratulated the students and said that the university had grown rapidly. TUF, he said, had raised its standards to a level that allowed it to be ranked among the top academic centres in the country. He also praised the performance of TUF and UMDC in research and development.

Dr Aslam said he hoped the graduates would utilise their skills and knowledge for the welfare and economic well-being of the people.

He also congratulated the UMDC students for scoring the highest marks in the MBBS professional examinations.

TUF Pro-Rector Dr Abdul Karim Baloch highlighted the performance of the institution and said that the university was imparting education to more than 2,200 students in health sciences, engineering and technology, management studies and arts and social sciences.

Later, faculty and staff members who had served the two universities for 10 years were also awarded medals and prizes.
