Armed conflict: PTI leader killed in dispute

According to locals, dispute had been going on for a long time and often surfaced as conflict between the two groups.

SHANGLA: Two people, including Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) finance secretary in Shangla, were killed and eight others injured in a conflict between two groups triggered by a land dispute in Shung, Shangla district on Sunday.

According to locals, the dispute had been going on for a long time and often surfaced as a conflict between the two groups. “This morning, fighting between the two sides erupted once again over the dispute,” said Khalid Khan, a resident of Shangla. He added both sides opened fire on each other as a result of which two people were killed. The victims were identified as Khairul Bashar and Rustam Khan.

The former was the PTI’s finance secretary.  FIRs have been registered by both groups. Police arrested three people and an investigation is underway.
