MULTAN: Jamshaid Dasti announced on Friday his departure from Pakistan Peoples Party based on his differences with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar over contesting election from NA-177 constituency.

He also declared that he will contest the upcoming elections as an independent candidate from NA- 177 and NA-178 constituencies.

With reference to the current trend of politicians leaving PPP to join Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakisan Tehreek-e-Insaf, he said that he will never oppose PPP.

Dasti has been embroiled in fake degree case, with a petition before the regional election commission asking to declare him ineligible to contest elections under articles 62 and 62 of the constitution of Pakistan.
