Cost of negligence: Minors die in water tank accident

The residents demanded action against the contractor of the community centre.

HARIPUR: Two children were killed after falling in water tanks in different parts of the district, police said on Friday. According to the police, the first incident was reported from village Dara Dada Shaheed Khanpur where Junaid, 4, son of Hafiz Tahir, was playing in the courtyard and accidentally slipped into the underground reservoir and drowned. The family members shifted him to Khanpur Hospital but he did survive. The second incident was reported from Kangra Colony. Aneela, 6, daughter of Khalid from Mohallah Daragri Sector 2 fell into the water tank of a community centre on her way back from a grocery store. Children who saw the accident said that Aneela accidentally fell into the tank as it was not covered. The residents demanded action against the contractor of the community centre.
