The two neighbouring countries planned to play a five-match series in India and Pakistan. Pakistan was due to visit cities in India from April 5- 15 and the Indian hockey team was to tour various cities of Pakistan from April 23.
The series would have revived the bilateral hockey ties between the traditional rivals after nearly seven years.
A snooker series between Pakistan and India was postponed earlier this month on March 5 based on safety and security grounds as well.
It was to be the first series featuring the two countries since 2005.

I have spent the entire day wondering in Lahore and there were countless foreigners exploring the beauty of city too. I don't understand how come these teams find Pakistan an unsafe place.

India is very capable of maintaining its own sovereignity. If you wish ,you can try again.
This is a well planed tactics going with few country first they agree to visit and at last movement it is cancel with purpose to bring on record to show it to the world innocent tourist to visit and deny investment.
If u want war play hockey and try to win and see the triumph u have. It is like you won the whole war against arch enemy. India and Pak should have war in hockey field as hockey is toughest team sports.

@Insaan: I was commenting from a neutral point of view, the same sentiments are in Pakistan about India. Pakistanis feel that India is responsible for unrest in Baluchistan and aiding terrorist to unsettle Pakistan. The terrorist of Baluchistan get training in India and they attach security forces of Pakistan. When both have so much distrust in each of other, than they should avoiding announcing these events or show maturity and keep sports out of politics.

Very tough stand from India and the above statement says It clearly which says India is and will always be an undisputed owner of entire J&K whatsoever the pakistan reservations may be.

They agree for improving relations, but Pakistan government keeps doing some thing to upset. First Indian soldiers beheaded in Kashmir, now 5 BSF personnel killed in a terrorist attack in Kashmir. Terrorists came dressed as cricketers.
Pakistanis have not learned a lesson that supporting terrorism will harm Pakistan also.

WHat is the national sport of India??
India is missing the basic fact that Pakistan has nuclear bomb and Pakistan knows how to dictate its terms when it comes its sovereignty.
Its is unfortunate that this tour is cancelled. Everyone wanted to see India Pakistan hockey clashes as they are always full of passion and energy.
However, for all those conspiracy nuts who gonna blame India for cancelling the tour, please keep in mind that India is not the first country which has cancelled its tour to Pakistan in last few years. India being considered an enemy no one in Pakistan, Indians would be least safe in Pakistan amongst all the nations.
May be next time we should organize tours in neutral grounds for Pak home games.

I agree, we should not sit on series planning tables with Indians if it cant be guaranteed by them.
But , on the other hand , how are we going to approach the ISSUE of security in out country ?
Why are we so confident in complaining to other countries about their lack of interest in visiting Pakistan ?
The bomb blats never stop . No political or military leader in our country is known for having control over whatever he wants to achieve regarding security or development .
I mean , WHAT HAVE WE DONE regarding security that makes us so damn confident in inviting everyone here ???
We had the same attitude when Srilankans were brave and hearty enough to come here , and then they got shot.

It is not due to security concerns. Ministry of External Affairs has denied permission... The reason is diplomatic. I think the reason is Pakistan Parliament passed a resolution on Afzal Guru's hanging.
@A.M.Khan: Better ask pakistani government to improve security of Pakistani citizens, it hurts when a lot people die daily in bomb blasts. Human life should have some value and people should stand up against terrorism and protest for independence from social evils.
I think India should not be considered at all for tours in Pakistan. They plan the tour knowing that the security can be a problem and then they cancel it, which becomes another headline about security issue.
Why do they agree on these matches when these have to be eventually cancelled? We should stop even thinking of organising these fixtures until our politicians i.e. politician on both sides starts showing maturity.
