The decision was announced during a joint press conference in Peshawar by K-P Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and K-P Assembly’s Opposition Leader Akram Khan Durrani.
While speaking to media, Hoti said that the decision - made by consensus - was based on merit.
The provincial chief minister said that he wants to have an effective interim setup which can ensure transparent elections.
Durrani, during the press conference, said all parties have their own agendas but the need of the hour is to think in favour of the people.
Hoti would advice the governor regarding the dissolution of the K-P Assembly on Saturday.
Former chief justice, who was named the caretaker CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, would take oath as the interim CM on Sunday.

See, this is why we also go ahead and take a lead in celebrating EID.
One must appreciate the fact that the the political leadership of KPK did not waste time in sending letters suggesting therein the names for caretaker chief minster and took lead over the leadership in the federation and the three federating units for the nomination of caretaker chief minister.
Democratic attitude shown by both the ruling party and opposition. Thumbs up for Pukhtunkhwa
KPK adheres to its phenomenal parliamentary record, and takes the lead..
Well done KPK government and opposition :)
And the winner is KP... well done KP to be first in nominating caretaking set up.....
I donot like these Judges. They have a starchy behavior unfit for public office. They are always eying on pockets of others and free loaders. They always show poor governance qualities, are introvert and stick to the office chairs instead of going in the field.
Pioneer decision of KPK Govt. Nice movement regarding care setup.
Nice decision, Justice R Tariq Pervaiz is the right person to be CM of Pukhtunkhwa.
