The Pakistan Peoples Party-Parliamen-tarians on Thursday revealed its election manifesto with special focus on a seven-point agenda pledging to fulfill the basic needs of the country’s poor.
The manifesto was released by the party president Makhdoom Amin Fahim at a press conference here on Thursday.
Former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira, Defence Minister Naveed Qamar and Minister of State for Information Sumsam Bukhari were also present on the occasion.
The manifesto pledges to increase minimum wage to Rs18,000 per month by 2018 and enhance the monthly cash grant under the Benazir Income Support Programme from Rs1,000 to Rs2000.
The manifesto also pledges to create a new province in South Punjab through necessary constitutional measures.
Furthermore, the manifesto promises that Sindh will be provided a special grant from Karachi, under the new NFC Award. A mother and child care programme would be launched to provide health care.
The manifesto also commits to eradicate polio by 2018 and taking its coverage to 100%.
As per Constitutional requirements, the manifesto promises universal primary enrolment by 2018 and 10,000 higher education and technical vocation scholarships for Fata and Balochistan.
Labour representatives will get four seats in the National Assembly and two seats in each Provincial Assembly through legislation.
According to the manifesto, there will be renewed focus on housing and the poor will be given priority for low-cost housing schemes to be launched through public-private partnership.
The party proposes to launch a youth employment initiative called ‘Peoples Employment Programme’. Farmers will be supported by charging a flat rate for electricity for tube wells and providing cheaper agri-inputs. Special Economic Zones would be established to promote industrialisation and create job opportunities.
Furthermore, the manifesto also pledges addition of 12,000MW of cheaper electricity through hydel, coal, gas and renewable energy by the end of the next term of the government. The National Commission on Minorities will be given statutory status and religious properties would be given protection.
The nation, it said, faced a grave crisis five years ago when former premier Benazir Bhutto was assassinated by ‘enemies’ of Pakistan. It said that after five years, the PPP laid foundations for a sustainable, accountable and robust democracy in Pakistan.
The PPPP manifesto expresses the resolve to take Pakistan into a future based on social justice, peace and prosperity for all.

Havent they made enough money to last them a few lifetimes?
more salary means more inflation and loss of jobs in the market... :( bad manifesto bad PPPP
MANIFESTO??? Can somebody please take out their manifesto from last elections and compare it with actual performance? Only to show what they promised and what they actually delivered. I feel their achievements would not exceed even 5% of plans. Just like in every organization where budgets are compared with actual s, the same should be done before every election and ruling party be held answerable for what they promised and what they actually delivered. PPP should be ashamed of itself to even have the moral courage to come in front of its nation again. It has failed us badly. Majority businesses have closed down, no jobs, no education, terrorism is at its peak, climbed up the failed state rank, no electricity, no gas, failed railways, failed airlines, no law and order, daily target killings, corruption at its peak, entire country is in rubble and these people want our votes again. Shame on these merciless vultures. Their faces make me sick now thinking how shallow can a human get for money and power. lies & lies. Please i beg of the entire nation to stand united and not let any existing party come back to power. We need to save Pakistan from these looters now
I am not going to vote for the PPP or the PML-N.
yes like the dead people on the front page of the book we the living people will be joining them soon if these people come back into power
POLITICS : "Poli" a latin word meaning of "Many" and "tics" meaning blood sucking creatures.
Small minds, puny thoughts. Do they even know or care what a real functioning country is about? They are so clueless if only there was tax on cluelessness.
Hilarious,,,,,,,
It seems a fairt tales rather a menifesto.... however, people have seens last five year,
Still i waish and pray, for those people those does not have enough civic sense and can emotionalized by above emotional menifesto... votes apart from metro cities plays significant role in establishing government
All too late PPP all tooo late... Its time to pack your bags
The entire PPP manifesto and the party is a farce, farce, and farce. They must have only two points for their manifesto, "No corruption and no violence." My vote is for PTI. salams
hahaha
As if the economy is already not suffering. As if there isnt enough unemployment. The only good thing about this news is that PPP is never capable of delivering on its promises.
In February 2008 elections I voted for PPP due to one simple reason that Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto gave her life for the sake of people of Pakistan.
After her death PPP came into power and what PPP has given to the people of Pakistan, it is not hidden from any body.
All slogans of PPP are fake and I don't believe on the PPP's Manifesto.
Keeping in view of the unprecedented inflations that was increased during PPP own regime, PPP should have increased the minimum wage of a labourer to Rs.18,000 per month, after one year of PPP rule as no body tied PPP's hands at the back to do so.
In upcoming election, I will prefer to die rather than giving vote to PPP.
I want a change of Government in Pakistan. No more PPP please.
The first few points looked sound but as I read further it just looked to me that they want to fool the people again.
hahahahahaha PPP plzzzzzzz stop 'serving' Pakistan.
if they come in power again, i'll move to nigeria
PPP and PML...no way. Only PTI deserves chance this time. If they don't perform, they should be voted out as well.
I can't controll my laughing when I see them talking like this. Our children even scared to hear ppp name with their five year performence!
Increased minimum wage by? Another income support program? You guys have been beggars and now the rest of the nation to start begging at all levels!
All lies
Anything about privatization? 4 white elephants? 3 G contracts?
good to see gillani sahib here, the guy is plainly awesome,he took a loan of 550 million rs,paid just 45 million and righted off the remaining amount..what a man!
Okay. Thank you. Goodbye.
LMAO
Will be in the bin where they win or lose!
Even lucifer himself has PPP as its role model. Great manifesto guys!!
PPP = Dead Horse
Only in Pakistan. A party in Government with the performance of last five years can have a chance of winning elections again
First give employment then talk about wages, businesses are closing down and your talking about increasing minimum wages. Wonderful way to make a fool out of these poor illiterate people.
Voting for PPP again? Over my dead body!
How about they also tell us about previous 5 year performance. PPP has failed its people and should not even contest elections.
