Political activity: PTI holds central region elections
On March 16, the PTI will hold elections for the provincial body.
LAHORE:
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) party elections for the central region (Lahore) were held Wednesday to elect 30 party office bearers. Polling started at 10 am and continued till 5 pm at Aiwan-i-Iqbal. Of the 290 newly-elected office bearers of district bodies in 10 districts as many as 280 cast votes. Jameel Asghar Bhatti and Usman Saeed Basra were contenders for president and general secretary, supported by Ejaz Chaudhary. Unity Group fielded Barrister Mansoor Sarwer and Mian Khalid as its candidates for the two posts while independents Umer Dar and Sanaullah are also in the run for president and general secretary respectively. The party has already held elections in three regions. On March 16, the PTI will hold elections for the provincial body.
