QUETTA: Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam Ideological (JUI-I) staged a demonstration on Tuesday on Hockey Ground Chowk, yards away from Governor House Balochistan, against the passport and NADRA offices, causing a serious traffic jam in the provincial capital.

Addressing the protesters, Maulana Abdul Qadir Looni, Syed Sattar Chisti and other leaders said that the National Identity Card (NIC) making institutions had put the masses through agony, seeking huge sums of money in bribes  for identity cards or passports.

They said that refugees were able to get NIC cards and passports within no time by paying up to Rs30,000,  but the common man of the province was denied.

The sit-in ended after successful negotiation with Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi.
