SARGODHA:
Lawyers here on Tuesday observed what they called Youm-i-Tashakkur (gratitude day) following the approval of a summary for a Lahore High Court bench in Sargodha by the Punjab cabinet. They organised a rally led by Bar President Syed Tayyab Sherazi that marched from the district courts to the Canal Rest House, which they had been occupying since their protests began and had named it LHC Sargodha registry. Addressing the rally, Sherazi said that a decision on whether to open the courts or not would be taken after a meeting of the divisional lawyers committee. The lawyers had locked the courts during earlier protests. He said the lawyers would observe a strike till the issuance of a notification of the bench. Businessmen and civil society activists also participated in the rally.
