The blast took place inside a van near the old ‘Sabzi Mandi’.
Initial reports suggest that the blast took place during a CNG fueling.
A local SSP has said that no loss of life took place.

@Mohammad Ali Siddiqui: All the diesel buses are running on CNG in Karachi so not sure what happened. If it would be a bomb blast then devastation could be serious because it's a really crowded place.
my czn died in that blast...
Blast was so powerful that it loud voice was heard by the people living close to Hassan Square area. Thanks God that no one is reported dead or injured, but the van in which blast occurred was badly damaged.
The van was on Diesel and NOT on CNG.
