The bank accounts and properties of former Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Syed Hamid Saeed Kazmi were frozen on Tuesday, Express News reported.

Kazmi, Rao Shakeel and former additional secretary to ministry of religious affairs Raja Aftabul Islam were accused of indulging in widespread corruption during the course of renting residential buildings for Pakistani pilgrims in Saudi Arabia at exorbitant rates and inflicting a loss of a billion rupees to the national exchequer. Most of the buildings rented by the Hajj administrators were five kilometres away from the Haram Sharif, while according to law the accommodation for Hajjis should not be more than two kilometres away.

A case was registered against Kazmi and he was arrested on March 15, 2011. A Rawalpindi court had granted him bail on August 27, which was later cancelled on Federal Investigation Agency’s request.

Why our politicians spend millions on election campaigns, simply its an investment to make money through corruption. I feel sorry for this man who had to face losses in this business.

In the western countries, they freeze the account firsthand then talk with the person. You think he is so stupid that he left big amount of money in his account. At this time they should freeze the accounts of his wife and all of his children accounts. Also confiscate allof his properties ( both under his name and under his children name)
