SHO Ishtiaq said that the armed robbers entered the Badruddin and Sons Shop and held two employees hostage at gunpoint and looted 16 imported pistols, three rifles and 600 cartridges.
Police with mobile forensic laboratory reportedly collected the finger prints of robbers.
The police also took the video clip from a surveillance camera installed near the shop.
Mustafa, owner of the shop said that two unidentified robbers entered his shop at 10am.
He said that the robbers fled with the ammunition after making his two employees hostage at gun point.
When contacted, City Police Officer, Azhar Hameed Khokhar, dispelled the impression that Taliban were behind the robbery.
He said that the police have collected video footage from a surveillance camera and the culprits would soon be arrested.
