FAISALABAD: The Environmental Protection Department on Monday fined 33 businesses Rs156,000 and issued warning to 29 others on charges of polluting the environment.
Deputy District Officer Farhat Abbas Kamoka said that EDP official will make surprise inspection visits to these places soon.
He said Rs60,000 fine was imposed on 12 hospital laboratories; Rs52,000 on eight plastic waste units; Rs28,000 on seven dairy farms; Rs6,000 on four polythene bags factories; and Rs10,000 on restaurants.
